About Greenly Garden
Greenly Garden is an Android app and this website for growing vegetables, berries, fruit trees and flowers by the calendar of your own place. It works out sowing, planting-out and feeding dates from the frost dates of your coordinates, reminds you on the day, and one camera names a plant and suggests what is wrong with it.
Who makes it
Greenly Garden is made by Greenly Garden. It is available in English, Ukrainian, Russian and Spanish. Write to publicsomeday@gmail.com.
How the dates are worked out
For any point on Earth, Greenly takes 10 years of daily weather (ERA5 reanalysis via Open-Meteo) for the 25 km grid cell around it and finds the median last spring frost and first autumn frost. Every plant’s dates follow from them by fixed rules: open ground a week after the last frost once the soil is warm enough for the crop, frost-hardy crops three weeks before it, an unheated greenhouse three weeks earlier. The calendar is counted on the phone and works offline.
Where the plant facts come from
A plant guide is published on this site only when its figures come from cited sources such as university extension services and the RHS; a pest or disease page only after it has been checked against sources. Each page lists its sources. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons with their authors and licences.
How AI is used
To name a plant, Greenly uses Pl@ntNet together with language models; for a problem it returns 2–3 likely causes with how sure it is and a treatment plan in two versions, organic and chemical, without brand names. Doses are taken only from the product label. It is reference information, not professional advice: look at the plant yourself and, for a serious or spreading problem, ask a local agronomist or extension service.
What is free
The calendar, reminders, weather warnings, the journal and the whole plant reference are free, with 3 plants, 5 identifications and 3 diagnoses a month. Reminders are never paid. Premium adds unlimited plants and more photo checks.
